If your subscription is not renewed by the expiration date, it enters a chronological shutoff process.
This applies whether you:
- Turned off auto-renew.
- Selected cancel at renewal.
- Did not complete a manual renewal.
Subscription statuses always change in a fixed order:
Expired → Suspended → Canceled
You cannot pause or suspend a subscription and restart it later. The billing schedule does not change—your subscription always keeps its original renewal date and continues from the same timeline, even if you turn auto-renew off or cancel and later reactivate it.
Example:
You have a monthly subscription that renews on December 21. If you turn off auto-renew or cancel on December 20, your subscription remains active until December 21 and then enters the shutoff process.
If you turn auto-renew back on or undo the cancelation on January 10, the subscription does not start a new billing period from that date. Instead, it continues on the original schedule. You are charged on January 10 for the existing billing cycle, and the next renewal is charged on January 21, following the original renewal date.
