Display dynamic data using fields

Fields in AutoCAD are a powerful way to create text that dynamically update to reflect changes to the drawing or other external factors. Fields act as a placeholder used to display information that may be subject to frequent updates.

After completing this video, you will be able to:

  • Use annotation fields to display dynamic data.
  • Create and edit dynamically updated mtext that reflects a drawing’s last saved time.
  • Display the area of an object using fields and dynamically update the data as you edit the object.
